TWO historic buildings are being expertly restored and refurbished as part a new homes development on the site of the former Royal Aircraft Establishment (RAE) headquarters in Farnborough.

Restoration of the former Ministry of Defence (MoD) buildings, named Q153 and R178, has provided developer Redrow Homes with a number of challenges, but has also been the inspiration for some creative construction features in the additional buildings that Redrow is creating from scratch.

Sales of luxury homes on the former site of the Royal Aircraft Establishment (RAE) headquarters in Farnborough got off to a flying start at the launch event.

More than 100 people sipped champagne and tucked into canapés’ as 32 converted apartments went on sale at Redrow’s Farnborough Central development, in the Hampshire town.

A new marketing suite is due to open next weekend (Jan 26) where home buyers can view plans of Redrow’s luxury new development on the former site of the Royal Aircraft Establishment in Farnborough.

Previously prospective purchasers met with Redrow’s sales consultants at The Hub, at IQ Farnborough, but now they can visit a consultant on site and view computer-generated images and plans of the finished development.

WORK has begun on a development of 476 new homes on one of the UK’s most significant aeronautical sites at Farnborough, Hampshire; a scheme that will have a finished worth of circa £85 million.

The site, adjacent to Farnborough Business Park, has been purchased by Redrow Homes from SEGRO (formerly Slough Estates Plc).
